griefed infiltrates E3 - ELECTRONIC EXPO EXPOSED!

The great festival of consoles and to a lesser extent, games, has again taken place in Los Angeles.

Lots of interesting things coming out of E3, but the most intriguing is that the 'next generation' consoles seem to have a lot less power than even a modest gaming PC. Sony also has an interesting take on indie games - like Apple, they will allow self-publishing, which is a Big Deal. Microsoft on the other hand will force you to get a major publisher, or to sell them the rights, both of which are, shall we say, less than ideal.

While griefed was (sadly, oh so sadly) not there, we are fortunate to have some exclusive images from the event courtesy of Fourth Monkey Media (love you guys!)

Guild Wars 2 - The Personal Story

So for the last 3 characters I leveled to 80 I have not completed the Personal Story quest line. The Personal Story comes with every character you make and is different depending on your race and decisions you make when you create your character. Very reminiscent of Ultima character creation being that instead of influencing your stat roles it determines a line of quests that your character can pick up at any time to ultimately bring you to the finale instance, Arah. I decided this weekend to play way into my mesmer's Personal Story. I could see the first Third of the story line was based on my race and personal conflict choices. The next third was based on my decision to join the Order of Whispers - one of the 3 factions pouring their efforts into defeating Zaitan and more specifically through espionage. Someone in guild who had recently himself followed that story line had commented that it was one of the saddest story lines in game. <3 Thibalt. Despite the cliche stories of strength through friendship the game radiates anyways I was moved and would definitely recommend following the Personal Story while leveling. The gear though not necessarily great stat wise looks great for transmog.

Monaco can be yours tommorrow

Monaco is a co-operative robbery simulator for 1-4 players where the goal is to sneak around and steal specific items, cash, jewelry, or secret documents. Each player selects one of eight unique classes, each with their own special abilities and weapons. The players work together to pull off a successful heist.

Monaco is one of my most anticipated games, having been first brought to my attention when it won several awards at the Independent Games Festival. I present the trailer to you below:

Monaco releases April 24th on Steam and is also coming to XBLA, but was delayed.

Why I left WoW

I left WoW about a month and a half ago. This time (there was another time) I left because there really wasn't anything keeping me there. Not that I had done everything. I certainly was not an elitist. But I had 10 characters at cap and decently geared. Was in an inactive guild of similarly tired WoW veterans. We have seen action but could not get 10 people to amicably agree on how to raid the Pandarian content every Thursday night. And I was obsessed with playing WoW Pokemon. Game was easy and I was hanging around every evening for a decent run with friends or random strangers. Then some guildies of mine decided to jump ship. They started playing Guild Wars 2. I waited a month and heard the constant ooohs and aaaahs over how awesome it was. I decided to give it a weekend and after much griping I was sold. It's been over a month and a bit and 3 characters to cap later I am quite settled in and will start blogging my activity over here on Griefedtv. Stay tuned. More to come...
